Raquel Savage is a Black, queer, therapist, educator and sex worker. She’s worked with clients informally, as a life coach, since 2016 and formally, as a therapist, since 2018. She’s training to become a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner; she's a certified EMDR and TIR practitioner, as well as a Board Certified Sex Therapist Intern. She works primarily with Black & brown, queer & trans and sex working clients with anxiety disorders, depression and cPTSD. She also works with survivors of sexual assault and abuse. Raquel identifies as a mandated reporter against mandated reporting and facilitates therapy sessions aligned with her abolitionist values — she recognizes that state intervention in mental health disproportionately and negatively impacts Black folks and people who occupy marginalized identities, more broadly, and instead incorporates a “mandated supporting” philosophy that relies on community support and intervention.

She’s the co-founder of the Equitable Care Certification — a continuing education certification for clinicians and mental health professionals to learn how to work with sex workers as therapy clients. Raquel has been an educator since 2016, facilitating workshops and lectures on college campuses (FIU, Barry University, Oxford University, etc.) and at professional conferences (AASECT) discussing a spectrum of topics including clinical care for sex workers and dynamics of abuse/IPV. More recently, she teaches human sexuality at the graduate level to counseling students.

Raquel is the founder and executive director of Zepp Wellness Center, a 501c3 organization that offers rent relief funds & free mental health and healing services to Black queer folks and sex workers. And the CEO of Kink Media Group, a company that produces creative projects for BIPOC, sex workers and queer folks including CVNT Productions, a porn production company that produces high quality adult content in collaboration with Black, QTGNC, fat & disabled performers for free or on a sliding scale. She has been a sex worker for a decade, both as a full-service sex worker and an adult content creator.
